A loose ring bit is a bit with extra rings that can be used to pull through straps and can be used with 1 or 2 reins. With 2 reins it is milder in effect. If the reins are only attached to the rings of the cheekpiece, the effect of this bit is sharp. The pressure stimulates a horse to raise its head. This bit is suitable for show jumpers.

Maintenance of bits
It is wise to clean the bit after each use, this can simply be done under the tap or in a bucket of water. A bit of good and extensive cleaning is best done with a little lukewarm / warm water and a soft cloth. After washing, dry the bit with a dry cloth. Boiling your bit once a month in a pan of water ensures an optimal clean result and is the most effective way to get the bit really clean.
- Never use soap and / or detergents in connection with allergic reactions when washing
- If the bit is very dirty, soak it in hot water for a while
